The Public Access Test
The best tool for evaluating a team's readiness to graduate or finish formal training is a Public Access Test like the one available at the International Association for Assistance Dog Partners or Assistance Dogs International. Keeping a video recording of your animal passing the test may prove valuable in the future.
Passing a Public Access Test does not mean we or any organization officially "certifies" your dog. Certification is not required in the USA.
Simply registering with us does not certify an animal or an individual as a Service Dog Team or provide any special rights, legal or otherwise. The purpose of registering is to agree to an additional and specific set of training and behavior standards. Registration is for personal identification purposes only, similar to an online resume or providing a vest for your dog. Registration or membership with us or any other organization is also not required.
I'm not ready yet.
I understand and choose to continue.
